With Howard University's homecoming just around the corner, students are highly anticipating who will take the stage at the annual Yard Fest concert.
Yard Fest is a favored tradition on campus and a staple during the homecoming weekend. It’s a time for students, alumni, and locals to come together and have a good time.
Traditionally, performers are “top secret” leading up to the concert. So it’s an annual pastime to see if your predictions were close or very far off.
While some students are dreaming big about the lineup, others are being a bit more rational. Truth be told, it could be just about anyone.
Junior Keith Prince hopes to see “Future, Baby Face Ray, and Latto” hit the stage.
Several students had an artist in common on their lists: Sexxy Red.
“Sexxy Red has to come to Howard's homecoming, I’m betting on it. That’s my number one pick right now,” Kyndall Cole, a junior marketing major shared.
This year’s concert could also be extra special, as Hip-Hop celebrates its 50th anniversary.
Kayleigh Holcombe, a junior journalism major, said she would love to see an “old school vibe” on stage this year, and believes it would be a big hit.
While it will be hard to top last year’s lineup with an appearance from Chloe and Halle Bailey and performances from DJ Jae Murphy, Flo Milli, GloRilla, and Jacquees— students predict this year will be a big one.
