The return of Camo

You heard it here first: camo print is back. If you’re someone who pays attention to fashion, chances are you’ve noticed camo prints making a reappearance in people’s wardrobes. Camo’s takeover is particularly noticeable in streetwear, a style popularized in the 90s by hip-hop stars, where baggy clothing like cargo pants and oversized hoodies dominate. With colder months rapidly approaching, camo print will be a staple for fall clothing seen in jackets, pants, and hats. This military-chic look will keep you warm and stylish during this transitional season

Cheetah Print

Another print making a comeback this season is Cheetah. Many influencers have dived head first into the trend, styling cheetah print in a maximalist fashion. Maximalism is a style in which doing more is encouraged, whether that means incorporating bolder colors and prints or pairing multiple statement pieces together. Mixing and matching the print with pants or two-piece sets is a popular way to emulate a maximalist look using cheetah. If you’re more minimalist with your styling, don’t fret. Cheetah’s booming popularity has inspired brands to create diverse types of cheetah print accessories. Adidas' collaboration with Wales Bonner on a pair of cheetah print Samba’s is just one example of the print’s mainstream takeover.  Pair a casual fit with a cheetah print belt, purse, scarf, or shoes to spruce up your outfit!

Glasses as accessories

As the sunny days of summer begin to dwindle,  sunglasses are usually put back on the shelf. But this fall season, fashion enthusiasts are rocking glasses far throughout the fall months. In the past, eyeglasses have been treated as the less stylish sister to sunglasses. That stops now, as people ditch the contacts and opt for statement glasses. Eyeglasses are going to stand out as accessories rather than just vision enhancers. This means that even those with 20/20 vision can participate in the trend with non-prescription frames. Large frames have become more common this year and will only continue to grow in popularity. The motto for glasses this fall is “the bigger, the better.”

Boxer

This season, showing your underwear is completely intentional. The concept of  “sagging” has been a streetwear staple for decades; however, its popularity has mainly remained within menswear. Until now, this concept has begun to seep into women’s wear. Women have begun to incorporate sagging into their street style, letting their boxers peek out of baggy low-rise jeans or cargos. This trend has often been paired with a cropped top to show the briefs off. With this trend growing in popularity, we see brands create boxers targeted toward women. Brands like American Eagle, Hollister, and Pink have all made women’s boxers available in more feminine colors and prints. This accessory allows trendsetters to spice up simple jeans and a t-shirt look with a pop of color and pattern.

Statement Jewelry

In this fall season, more is more. With this in mind, statement jewelry is the perfect accessory for fall outfits. Statement jewelry can take a simple outfit from basic to bold. Whether you prefer gold, silver, or a mix of both, all eye-catching jewelry is encouraged. Layering necklaces has been around for decades, with the style first introduced in the 1920s with layered pearls. Since then, this trend has gone in and out of style by year. This year, it’s safe to say that layered necklaces are back in with the emergence of statement jewelry. Fall 2024 will see layered necklaces, rings, and bracelets worn all together in an unapologetically over-the-top manner.
