Love was in the air for Howard University students on Valentine's Day as the Undergraduate Student Assembly (UGSA) hosted Glowentine’s Day, an event sponsored by skincare brand Glow Recipe student ambassadors. From 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on the yard, Glow Recipe distributed various free products and polaroids.

Among the products offered were travel sized Plum Plump Hyaluronic Cream and full-sized Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Oil-Free Refillable Moisturizer, along with stickers.

After completing a form, students had the opportunity to choose a heart candy from a dispenser. A pink heart entitled one to a sample size of the Plum Plump Hyaluronic Cream. But, those lucky enough to receive a white heart, were able to choose a full size option of either moisturizer. The plum moisturizer was recommended for night time wear for those who wanted their skin to remain plump, hydrated and balanced. While the watermelon was recommended for the day time as a hydrating, smoothing, skin boost.

Students departed with a polaroid commemorating the special day, featuring a sleeve either the affirmation “you’re glowing.” Those who were already familiar with Glow Recipe brought an emptied product of theirs to donate to the Pact Collective and receive an extra full size moisturizer for free.

Most students, like Mia Kit, a freshman biology major, expressed that they didn’t really know what was going on or who Glow Recipe is, but they wanted to be a part of it.

“I see them sometimes but I really don’t actually know what they do. I don’t even know what’s over there. I just got in the line,” they shared.

The line for the event stretched across a small section of the yard, Students in line were also treated by various student groups on the Yard who were giving away flowers, pictures and tickets to the upcoming basketball game.
